FROM E-BIKE TOURS TO MOUNTAIN BIKE DOWNHILL TRAILS

The Kronplatz area and the Pustertal valley guarantee the right experience for every cyclist. The 18 trails of the Kronplatz Bike Park, for example, offer all the flow trails, rides and downhill adventures your heart can desire. The local Alpine trails are loved by e-bikers and mountain bikers alike, while road cyclists are in for a treat along the winding mountain pass roads in the Dolomites. There are also family-friendly options, of course, such as the Pustertal valley cycle path and the cycle path that leads into the Ahrntal valley. And if you don’t have your bike with you, you can hire the latest models at the Kronplatz outdoor bike centre.

HIKING, CLIMBING AND MOUNTAINEERING

A sporty summit hike, a challenging climb or a leisurely walk across the Alpine pastures? Your choice! You can reach the Mt. Kronplatz outdoor paradise by cable car, and from there take your pick from a wealth of walks and hikes with spectacular views. The nearby Dolomites and the 80 different 3,000 metre peaks of the Ahrntal valley have plenty to offer to all mountaineers and rock climbers.

GOLF WITH A VIEW

Playing golf while surrounded by forests and majestic mountains – what an experience!  The Pustertal Golf Club, in the Reischach sports zone, offers an expansive 9-hole, par-33 course with a variety of options for beginners, experienced golfers and ambitious competitors. Facilities include a driving range, a practice bunker and a pitching area.

AIR, WATER AND THE FIRE OF ADVENTURE

Looking for an adrenaline kick? Then head off to St. Vigil in Enneberg, where daredevils can hurtle downhill on Europe’s largest zip line, or to Mt. Kronplatz, where thrill-seekers get their money’s worth on the Skyscraper swing ride. Unless you’d rather challenge the roaring waters on a whitewater rafting tour, or take off from Mt. Kronplatz on a tandem paragliding flight… And what about a leisurely hot-air balloon ride?

A DAY OUT IN BRUNECK

Take a stroll through the charming town centre, find the perfect souvenir in the picturesque shops, and then reward yourself with a good glass of wine at a wine bar or a delectable exploration of the South Tyrolean culinary landscape at a restaurant. The historical centre of Bruneck with its vibrant atmosphere is a great choice for an indulgent day out.

SWIMMING

Treat yourself to a refreshing dip or soothe your sore muscles in the sauna after a busy day in the great outdoors. The Cron4 pool and sauna centre is a haven of relaxation in the sports zone of Reischach. Other swimming opportunities include the Baggalocke lake in Gais and the natural bathing pond in Sand in Taufers.

ALPINE WALK TO FANE ALM

Quaint Alpine huts with shingled roofs and a small church in the heart of the Pfunders mountains: Fane Alm is a picture-postcard Alpine village near Vals, in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday area. It has been declared the most beautiful Alpine village in South Tyrol, and for good reason. See for yourself why, and seize the opportunity to visit the three alpine inns and spoil yourself with homemade cheese and traditional dishes. Fane Alm is easily reached on foot along the Milk trail, an instructive themed path that starts in Vals and is open year round.

ALPINE HUTS FESTIVAL IN GSIES

How about a family-friendly walk, followed by a spot of indulgence with farmer’s specialities? Then join us in September for the Alpine huts festival, when the mountain huts in the area of St. Martin, St. Magdalena and Pichl celebrate local traditions with folk music, Goaslschnöller whip crackers and Schuhplattler dancers – the atmosphere is as great as the food!

SKIING

Mt Kronplatz, near Bruneck, is South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski area, and part of the Dolomiti Superski ski circuit. Look forward to 1,200 kilometres of slopes at all levels of difficulty, including the famous Big Five black pistes. Cutting-edge facilities and the breathtaking view of the Dolomites guarantee a perfect day on skis, and the ski bus takes you comfortably from AVIA to the cable car valley station in Reischach.

SLEDGING AND WINTER WALKS

Feel the fresh snow crunch under your soles as you make your way along groomed winter footpaths or across unspoilt white expanses. There are plenty of well-kept trails around Bruneck that lead to cosy mountain huts. You also have the option of sledging back to the valley… and if that’s your thing, don’t miss the chance for a memorable sledge ride under the full moon!

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Visit the Reischach sports park, a stone’s throw from Bruneck, and negotiate the spectacular snowscape along snow-guaranteed cross-country ski trails – open to everyone, free of charge. A short drive away you will also find the Dolomiti Nordicski trail networks, including for example the high-altitude trails of Kasern in the Ahrntal valley, the trails in Antholz and the sun-kissed valley trail in the Gsiesertal valley.

WELLNESS

Want to take relaxation to the next level? The Cron4 pool and sauna centre in Reischach offers plenty of indoor and outdoor options for a healthy sweat and cooling enjoyment, and daily sauna infusions performed by trained sauna masters – a real feel-good package!

 

CHRISTMAS MARKET IN BRUNECK

Rekindle your childhood Christmas awe as you take a stroll among the illuminated wooden huts on the Graben boulevard, browsing for traditional handicrafts and fragrant specialities. The Bruneck Christmas market is on from the end of November to 6 January – don’t miss this magical experience!

DOLOMITI BALLONFESTIVAL

Fly over the Pustertal valley in a hot air balloon, enveloped by silence and gently propelled by the wind, and admire the snowy peaks from above. Every January, the Dolomiti Ballonfestival in Toblach gives you an exciting opportunity to take a spectacular hot-air balloon ride – a wonderful experience that will stay with you forever.

BIATHLON WORLD CUP IN ANTHOLZ

Would you like to see the world’s biathlon stars fight for precious points at the Biathlon World Cup? Then join us in Antholz for the Winter Olympics in February 2026 and immerse yourself in the amazing atmosphere of the Südtirol Arena stadium or wave your flag along the cross-country ski trail.

LITTLE KRONPLATZ

Little Kronplatz is a world of adventure where budding explorers can discover Mt. Kronplatz on their own terms. The five stations give children the chance to experience the ski area in its summer version: for example, they can climb into a snow cat or watch the snow cannon blow soap bubbles. Plus, the tubing track and the “bungee climbing” facility guarantee tons of fun for the whole family.

KRONACTION ADVENTURE PARK

Climb and jump from platform to platform on eleven different courses – the KronAction adventure park in Issing features the largest high ropes course in South Tyrol, offering a fun-packed adventure for everyone from small children to adults. And if you work up a sweat, a cooling dip in the neighbouring Issinger Weiher swimming lake is just the thing.

KIDS’ WORLD IN OLANG

Climbing features, water features and themed play areas: Kids’ World in Olang is the perfect place for kids to run riot and play to their hearts’ content. Highlights include a 56-metre giant slide that cuts across the forest, as well as the opportunity to combine the visit with a bike tour. Kids’ World is located right by the Pustertal valley cycle path.

PRETTAU MINING MUSEUM

Are you ready for an exciting journey underground? A hands-on family tour in the Prettau mines and museum guarantees lasting memories. Take the mine railway to reach deep inside the tunnels, then emerge to the surface and get ready for a treasure hunt…

REIERHOF FARM & PETTING ZOO

Shaggy yaks and cuddly bunnies, sweet ponies and friendly goats: the Reierhof farm in the Gsiesertal valley is home to around a hundred animals. Meet and greet new two and four-legged friends, including some exotic species. As well as the petting zoo, the facilities include a playground and an inn.

DISCOVERING NATURE IN TOBLACH

A place for climbing, jumping and learning about the forest in a playful way. The Wood Wonder World park in Toblach is a wonderful playground with a tree house and a barefoot course offering tons of opportunities for children. Why not couple the experience with a visit to the Toblach wildlife park, so you can meet the Alpine fauna and marvel at deer, raccoons and more? And if that doesn’t quench your kids’ thirst for adventure, we have just the thing: off to Grieswaldele, the largest playground in Toblach with a zip line, a pond and a slide.

KLAUSBERG FAMILY PARK

So many attractions! Whizz down the mountain on the Klausberg-Flitzer Alpine coaster. Fly with the zip line over the Brugga Klomme gorge or splash the day away at the water features… or discover the world of dinosaurs at Dino Land. Summer or winter, the Klausberg Family Park in the Ahrntal valley guarantees a great day out for the whole family.

MT. HAUNOLD OUTDOOR AREA

A dwarf village, high ropes course, barefoot pools, tubing track and summer toboggan: time flies when you’re having a day out on Mt. Haunold, the family-friendly outdoor area in the 3 Peaks Dolomites area, near Innichen. And from mid-July to the end of August, Haunold the Giant offers children’s entertainment every Friday at the Haunold children’s festival.

MESSNER MOUNTAIN MUSEUMS

Two of extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner’s themed museums are located here in Bruneck. MMM Corones, perched on Mt. Kronplatz and designed by architect Zaha Hadid, offers insights into the history of traditional alpinism, while MMM Ripa at Bruneck Castle is dedicated to mountain peoples from all over the world and their way of life.

LUMEN MUSEUM

The LUMEN Museum on Mt. Kronplatz is dedicated to the charm of mountains and mountain photography. The history of mountain photography from its inception to the present day is recounted through a collection of photos, videos and various exhibits. The Hall of Mirrors with its poetic-artistic exploration of Alpine atmosphere is particularly intriguing.

SOUTH TYROLEAN FOLKLORE MUSEUM IN DIETENHEIM

With its collection of original Tyrolean farmhouses, tools and workshops, the open-air Folklore Museum in Dietenheim offers valuable insights into what the everyday life of rural people used to be like. The centrepiece is the baroque Mair am Hof manor, which houses an extensive ethnographic collection and offers a taste of the life of the landed gentry.

THREE PEAKS AND PRAGSER WILDSEE LAKE

Soaring majestically towards the sky, the Three Peaks are the very landmark of the Dolomites, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site at a short distance from Pragser Wildersee Lake (aka Lake Braies), a turquoise, crystal-clear gem set against the rocky backdrop of the Seekofel massif. These two natural masterpieces are among the most popular attractions in the Pustertal valley, definitely a must-see.

ANTHOLZER LAKE

Azure-green water and the peaks of the Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park all around. In Antholz you will find an idyllic mountain lake – the third largest in South Tyrol. Seize the opportunity to take a pleasant walk around its shores, following the beautiful trail complete with info boards along the way, and discover interesting facts about the local flora and fauna.

CASTLE TAUFERS

The mighty castle standing tall on a rocky outcrop above Sand in Taufers in the Ahrntal valley is Castle Taufers, a well-preserved complex full of intriguing features, from a knights’ hall to a dungeon with torture chamber. Optional guided tours are available, as is a special children’s programme during the summer season.

REINBACH WATERFALLS AND FLY-LINE

The spectacle of pure mountain water thundering down the rock faces, gushing and hissing through the crevices. The three Reinbach waterfalls near Sand in Taufers, also known as Reiner waterfalls, are a magnificent expression of the power of nature. All it takes to get there is a short walk. And if you’re looking for a jolt of adrenaline, you can take the fly line back to the starting point.
